Tour of Santiago de Compostela


Tour itinerary (one day in duration)


  • Depart city Santiago (also available from other cities or cruise ship ports by prior arrangement within Galicia).

  • Enjoy a private guided tour of the Capital of Galicia built in the year 813. Since the 9th the city marks the end of the famous pilgrim "Camino de Santiago". The city was built around the Cathedral where one can find the remains of the apostle James (Santiago).

  • During the day we will visit:

    Plaza do Toural, the Bendana Palace of the 18th century
    Rua Nova, the principal theatre and the Church of St. Maria de Salome
    Rua do Vilar, the famous street of arches.
    Rua do Franco, traditional zone for walking around and eating tapas
    Plaza Fonseca, the University Library that was originally commissioned as a college by
    Archbishop Fonseca in 1532.
    Plaza do Obradoiro, Gelmirez Palace, the College of St. Jerome, the Reyes Catolicos Hotel, and the Rajoy Palace, and


  • The famous St. James Cathedral which incorporates different elements from the Gothic, Baroque, Plateresco and Neo-Classic eras without contradictions. Life of the city of Santiago has always formed around this 9th century Cathedral.

  • The tour includes a three course lunch hosting some delicious Galician cooking and local wine.
